I explained that I just wanted a buzzcut to Jose, my barber. He asked me if I wanted a #1 or #2 blade? I didn't know what any of that meant, but I told him I wanted only like half an inch left in length on the top, then a fade down and around the sides and back. I told him I usually had it done in-home, with my own buzzcutter, but since moving here alone for school, I don't have anyone who can do it.. so he just buzzcutted a little bit around the edges of my head, where the fade could start afterwards, then he told me to look, and see if that was a good length for the rest of the top.. and sure enough, it was perfect length. He periodically gave me time to look in the mirror to be sure it was going okay, but for the most part, he knew what he was doing. In the end, I got a great cut, and I tipped Jose $2.50, which was the max listed on his Square attachment for running my debit card, compared to 1 and 2 dollars. Highly recommend this place, and will definitely be making this my regular barber shop from now on.
